If we score the pain from 1 to 10:

 Without anesthesia: Could be 5 or 6. Sharp heat and constant electrical tingling are felt.

 With anesthetic cream (Standard Protocol): Lower to 2 or 3. Heat and “chisporroteo” are noted, but no sharp pain.

 

 The Physical Sensation

Patients often describe the sensation as:

 “Small, very rapid electrical discharges” or “hot sparks”.

 “As if you passed a wheel of hot micro-needle, but without pinching”.

 The most notorious is not the pinch, but the accumulation of heat. As the session progresses (which lasts about 15 minutes), the face heats up.

 

2. Factors that influence pain

 

1. Intensity (Julios): The doctor can adjust the power.

     “Glow” mode (Brillo): Very smooth, suitable for dueling.

     “Texture/Scars” mode: More powerful. It feels hotter here.

2. The Zone:

     Front and contour of eyes: Shaded areas with thin skin. It's more annoying here.

     Mejillas: Se tolera muy bien.

     Bigote: You may have some tears due to the nerve sensitivity of the area.

 

3. The Post-Treatment: Due later?

 

Interestingly, the most uncomfortable part for many is not the laser itself, at the next hour.

 

 The “Fuego” Post-Session: No more finishing, the anesthesia stops taking effect and the skin releases the accumulated heat. You will feel that your face burns, as if you were sleeping in the sun in August without burning.

     Duration: This intense burning lasts between 1 and 2 hours.

     Relief: At the clinic you will be given cold compresses, soothing masks or cold air (Zimmer) to lower the temperature.

 After 3 hours: The pain disappears completely. I only felt a sensation of tension and dryness (“carton effect”) for the next few days, but there was no pain.

 

Miedosos:

 

If you are experiencing pain, ask the doctor to give you the anesthetic cream for 30 or 40 minutes (instead of 20). With good topical anesthesia, the treatment is a breeze. It is much less painful than a CO2 laser or old laser hair removal in sensitive areas.

 

Verdict: It's not a relaxing massage, but it's quick and the result is worth it with the 15 minutes of heat increase.
