Cuidados esenciales después de un peeling facial en verano

Essential care after a facial peel in summer

Doing a peeling in summer is not prohibited (if the correct acids are chosen, such as Mandélic or Gluconolactone), but the margin of error is small. The skin temporarily loses its protective corneal layer, leaving it “naked” in front of UV radiation, chlorine and heat.

Here you have the safety protocol to ensure the result and avoid stains.

  1. The Golden Rule: “Total Shadow” for the first 48-72 hours

Even with a gentle summer peel (Lunchtime Peel), the skin is reactive.

Cero Playa Piscina: Don't plan on peeling again if you plan to go to the beach on Saturday. You need a safety margin of 3 days without direct exposure.

Avoid the “Magnifier Effect”: Even though you are under the shadow, indirect radiation (reflection from the arena or water) can burn the exfoliated skin.

  1. Photoprotection: The Armored Shield

After a peeling, your skin has lost part of its superficial and thicker melanin. The sun comes into the kitchen.

SPF 50+ Mineral (Physical): During the first week, it is recommended to use mineral filters (Zinc Titanium Oxide).

Why: Chemical filters transform the sun into heat on the skin, which can irritate after peeling. The minerals are dark and do not warm the skin.

La Cantidad: Be generous. Apply a visible layer.

Reapplication: Every 2 hours, or every time you sweat. If you don't want to touch your face, use mists with SPF 50 or compact mineral octopuses.

Physical Barrier: Wide-wing sombrero and sunglasses are mandatory if you go to the street during central hours.

  1. La Limpieza: Sin Frotar

The skin may be sensitive to touch.

Products: Uses Syndet cleaners (without jabón), cleansing milks or accepted products. Avoid gels with acids (no glycolic or salicylic acids in the cleanser) or strong detergents.

La Technique: Wash with your hands gently. It is prohibited to use sponges, facial towels (Foreo type) or rough towels. Dries to the touch, without dragging.

Temperature: Warm or cool water. Hot water increases inflammation.

  1. Hydration and Repair: “Cica Effect”

The peeling intentionally dries out the skin to renew it. You must compensate for this loss so that regeneration heals and does not decline.

“Cica” Creams (Repairing): Search for pharmacy creams that contain Centella Asiatica, Zinc, Copper and Panthenol (Vitamin B5). Helps to heal and calm erythema (redness).

Ceramides: They are the cement of the skin. Essential for rebuilding the skin barrier quickly.

Frequency: Apply cream as many times as your skin needs. If you feel tight, moisturize.

  1. Thermal Control: Be careful with Sweat

This is a factor exclusive to summer that is often forgotten.

The problem: The sweat is acidic and salty. If you sweat on newly exfoliated skin, you will feel intense stinging and a lot of irritation.

Avoid intense sports: Do not do Crossfit, running Bikram Yoga for 48 hours post-peeling. Keep your skin fresh.

Thermal Water: If you feel heat on your face (suffocation), use cold thermal water (from the bottom) to lower the skin temperature and prevent the capillaries from dilating.

  1. What is PROHIBIDO (Lista Roja)

To avoid Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) (dark spots caused by inflammation + sun), avoid these:

  1. Remove the skin: If the peeling causes visible (naked) peeling, never remove the skin. If you tear off living skin, you will have a legacy that, under the sun, will turn into a permanent brown stain. Cut the hair with disinfected bricks or hydrate it thoroughly so that it stays on the ground.
  2. Irritant active ingredients: Suspend Retinol, pure Vitamin C (acid) and other exfoliating acids for 5-7 days. Re-introduce them solo when the skin is fully recovered and smooth.
  3. Chlorine and Salt: Wait until your skin is skinned or sensitive before putting your head under water in a pool or at sea.

  1. When do you get back to your normal routine?

Generally, use a superficial summer peeling (mandelic, lactic, enzymatic):

Day 1-2: Tense and luminous skin (“lifting effect” due to dryness). Maximum hydration and sun protection.

Day 3-5: Possible light peeling (like “octopus” or smudging gum). Don't float.

Day 7: New skin revealed. You can go back to using your usual treatment serums and enjoy the luminosity.

If you do a peeling in the summer, your absolute priority is not to worry about it and not to heat it up. If you comply with strict photoprotection and restorative hydration, the peeling will enhance your summer beauty. If you are careless, the sun will take its toll on you in the form of spots.
