Agua termal y brumas: Refresca tu rostro correctamente

Thermal water and mist: Cools your face properly

Detailed and technical guide, written in Spanish, on the correct use of Thermal Waters and Facial Mists.

We often think that spraying water on our face is the simplest gesture in the world, but doing so can barely cause the opposite effect to what we wanted: dehydration through evaporation. If you've ever felt the skin for more than 10 minutes after drinking thermal water, you've skipped a step.

Here we teach you how to distinguish products and use them as a professional.

  1. Difference between Thermal Water and Facial Mist

Although the format (spray | aerosol) is the same, the content and function are different.

  1. Thermal Water

It is water extracted directly from underground springs. It's not water from the griffin; It's mineralized water.

Composition: Rich in trace elements such as Selenium, Silicon, Zinc or Magnesium.

Function: It is purely calming and desensitizing. Reduces inflammation, calms redness, relieves sunburn and restores pH. It is ideal for sensitive or atopic skin.

Classic brands: Avène, La Roche-Posay, Uriage, Vichy.

  1. Facial Mist (Face Mist)

It is a cosmetic formulation. It is water enriched with treatment assets.

Composition: Provides humectants (Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid), antioxidants (Vitamin C) or makeup fixers.

Function: Hydrate, illuminate, set or mattify makeup. This is an “expré” treatment step.

  1. Error Number 1: Rebound Dehydration

This is the critical point that everyone ignores.

Physics: If you spray pure (thermal) water on your face and let it dry in air, the water will evaporate. When it evaporates, it drags with it natural water from your own skin (osmosis phenomenon).

The Result: Feels fresh after 30 seconds, but after 5 minutes the skin feels dry and dry.

  1. The Correct Application Protocol

To refresh without drying out, follow these steps according to the product:

If you use Thermal Water (Mineral):

  1. Rocía: About 20-30 cm from the face, making movement in a circle or in 'Z'. Be generous.
  2. Wait: Allow the mineral salts to act for about 30 to 60 seconds.
  3. Dry (Vital): With a soft paper towel, lightly press the face to absorb excess drops. Don't worry, just put the paper down.

Exception: If it is isotonic water (like Uriage), it has the same concentration of salt as your cells and does not need to be dried.

If you use Treatment Mist (With Glycerin/Hyaluronic):

  1. Rocía: Same as last.
  2. Let it dry (the key): As these mists carry ingredients that hold water (humectants), they do not evaporate in the same way. You can allow the skin to absorb or help by tapping your fingers (“keyboard”) to activate circulation.

  1. When and Why to Use Them in the Summer

The spray is the most versatile tool you need during the summer.

  1. On the Beach or Pool

Use: To remove salt or chlorine from your face, nothing more than getting out of the water.

Benefit: Prevents salt from crystallizing and drying out the skin, and calms erythema (heat) caused by the sun.

  1. In the Workshop (Air Conditioning)

Usage: When you note the cardboard skin every week.

Benefit: Provides elasticity to the skin that dry air has stolen. Here it is better to use a Moisturizing Mist (with hyaluronic) than simple thermal water.

  1. About the Makeup (Fixing)

Use: After finishing makeup or to revive makeup at 4 pm.

Benefit: The powder of the makeup settles down, eliminating the “empollado” effect and leaving the skin more natural and supple. If you use a mattifying mist, control the shine without moving the base.

  1. After Hair Removal or Smoothed

 Use: Cold thermal water.

Benefit: Closes pores and calms irritation instantly.

  1. Types of Mist Specific to Summer

The market has evolved and now there is a mist for every summer problem:

  1. Mists with SPF (Sunscreen):

The joy of summer. They are invisible and allow you to reapply sun protection every 2 hours on top of your makeup without touching your face.

  1. Matifying Mists (Anti-Shine):

Contains silica octopus or zinc. Absorbs the sebum and leaves the skin matte. Ideal for oily skin.

  1. Anti-Pollution Mists:

Create a physical shield that prevents contamination particles from sticking to sweaty skin.

  1. El Truco Pro: La Temperatura

For maximum decongestant effect (ideal if you have bags in your eyes or face swollen by heat):

Keep your thermal water in the fridge.

The cold produces an immediate vasoconstriction that reaffirms the skin, opens the pore and opens the eyes for the morning.

Thermal Water: Calm and clean. Drain the excess with a paper towel to prevent it from drying out.

Facial Mist: Moisturizes and treats. Stop acting.

Use to clean salt/chlorine, set makeup or reapply SPF. Son the “water vessel” of your skin.
